About Eli Solomon

Publisher at Rewind Media Pte Ltd based in Singapore. A petrolhead of the nth degree, and a child of the 60s, Eli’s interests include South-East Asian history, Asian motorsport heritage, and machining intricate bits of automotive stuff.
A stockbroker for nearly two decades, he returned to Singapore in 2008 to complete a book on the history of the Singapore Grand Prix. Eli found his true calling in the motoring space shortly after the launch of Snakes & Devils – A History of the Singapore Grand Prix.
Eli has since officiated as a Judge at both the Le Mans Heritage Club Concours, the Shanghai Bund Classic and, for the last few years, been a member of the Jury for the FIVA Hall of Fame awards. He has raced his Brabham at the Tasman Revival, nearly clouted a concrete wall racing his Ford Escort in Macau, overtaken a former Formula 1 racer (albeit on a highway on the way to a race at Hampton Downs in New Zealand) and, against the wise counsel of friends, established Rewind Magazine, a quarterly magazine (later bi-monthly) that celebrated motoring heritage and lifestyle. The magazine was discontinued in 2018, but the publishing business continues to work on various book contracts.
When not engaged in publishing, you are likely to find Eli occupied on one of his vintage car projects hidden in a little garage in Singapore that’s packed with old race photos, posters, trophies and mangled pistons, all offerings to the gods of speed.
