Economic Value Survey – FAQs
The Australian Motor Heritage Foundation is conducting a survey of heritage vehicle owners to ascertain the contribution that the heritage vehicle sector, both classic and historic, makes to the economy. This survey is fully supported by the Council of Motor Clubs in NSW.
The survey, being distributed through clubs, is being conducted on the Survey Monkey platform by the economics advisory firm, The Mercurius Group.
It is anticipated that the survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete and is totally anonymous as we do not capture any private details of respondents.
Q: Why have I not received the “link” email from my club?
We designed the survey so that it would be distributed via email. Therefore, if your club has not disclosed a contact email address on its website, we cannot contact them. If we missed your club for this or any other reason, please collect 1. the name of your club and the state you live in, 2. the name of a contact person and 3. the contact email for the club. A mobile number would also be helpful but it’s not necessary. Then you can send this information using our contact us form and we will send the link to your club for distribution to its members.
Q: What if I do not own a Heritage vehicle?
You do not have to answer all the questions to submit a valid survey response so you have two options. First, you can ignore this or any other question you cannot answer and go on to the next question. Alternatively, you can click on the lowest value range. The lowest value range usually starts at zero.
Q: How will I get a copy of the completed Survey?
We want to get the results of the survey to anyone who is willing to read it. Therefore, we will send a copy of the completed survey report to every club for which we have an email address, even if they have not distributed the link to their members. If you are not a member of a club, you will still be able to download a copy of the survey report from our website.
Q: Can I submit data on how much I spend on my modern car?
The short answer is no. We are only collecting information on heritage vehicles. However, you can submit data on all the other things that you spend money on in pursuit of your passion for heritage vehicles, like trips, club events and so on.
Q. What do I do if I get the link from multiple clubs of which I am a member?
You can only answer the survey once, so any attempts to complete the survey after the first one will not be possible. However, it makes no difference which link you use to complete the survey. All responses are treated equally.
Q: What does “completely confidential” mean. How do I know that my data will remain private?
We have received and rely upon a written assurance from our survey provider that the measures taken to maintain the confidentiality of your data meet appropriate commercial standards. We separate your submitted data from your identity immediately that you submit it. Not even you can access it to change it once it is submitted. We will also destroy all the data that has been collected once the final report is written.
Q: Are heritage motorbikes and their owners included in the survey?
Absolutely! We are pleased to report that we are already receiving responses from the owners of heritage motorbikes all over Australia.
