Newsletter – June 2023

Hugh King · Jun 26, 2023 ·

To each of our valued Supporters and Patrons

Many of you paid Supporter and Patron subscriptions to help to kick-start your Foundation before the pandemic caused us so much concern about the future. Our founders and all our marvellous Volunteers kept at it, wore the masks and stayed with the plan progressively getting the job done.

During those many months we did not ask you to renew your subscriptions. The fact is, we thought we could not offer you enough in return until we got through the pandemic and could better ‘walk the walk’.

The future has arrived, and your Foundation is moving forward and thriving, justifying all the efforts that have gone in since our inception in 2016 and are still going on. Our own independent Economic Study of the Value of the Australian Heritage and Classic Motor Sector is underway and will be completed and released in Q4 this year. Several very special and extremely generous donations have allowed the study to proceed. The clubs, industry, Government and all motoring heritage enthusiasts are going to benefit greatly when this report is complete and released.

Digitisation of our massive resources has started, the pilot study of some 100,000 pages being successfully completed early this year. Our custom-built searchable database has been created by our benefactor Bill Fatouros of FirstSoftware Solutions and is being populated by our Volunteers. Our website has been improved and is being administered by our benefactor Karyn Clarke of HubsiteBuilder.

Our AMHF building has been improved and painted internally and externally by our own handyman, by Volunteer working bees and by our very generous landlord and Partner, the ARDC. You will now notice the recently completed AMHF signage on the building. Also, the strategic plans for Sydney Motorsport Park have been published. The new AMIP or Australian Motorsport Innovation Precinct is coming to reality. Your AMHF is part of that and has a clear long-term role to play.

Now we confidently ask you to renew your subscription, to help us to continue our journey forward. We ask that you renew your Annual Supporter or Patron subscriptions using the Join/Renew button and the Stripe payment system. You will note that you will be requested as part of the subscription renewal to provide a limited amount of contact information. The purpose of this is to ensure that we have your up-to-date details on file and we can get information on events etc. to you and to allow your Foundation to better serve your interests going forward. All information supplied will be kept private and will be used for Foundation administration purposes only.

In addition to renewing your subscription, you may also decide to make an additional tax-deductible donation any time to our AMHF Library fund. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Should you be able to do this please contact the Chairman and/or COO of the Foundation at: administration @motorheritage.org.au

We invite you make best use of your Foundation, keep up the financial support, encourage others to become Supporters, visit the website and Facebook page, become a Volunteer, attend upcoming events and help the AMHF be all that it can be.

Many thanks for your great support.
