August saw another milestone moment with over 2,000 Australian race meetings
now covered in our collection. Competitors would be aware that after 1999, the
majority of meetings are captured and accessible in the excellent Natsoft database.
But there is no equivalent National or State archive for any events prior to that. As
just one example, more than 50 Australian Grands Prix were held in that era.
Many of the organising clubs such as the ARDC, LCCA and QRDC are now defunct, so
competitors and libraries have been our major sources for original material.
The rise of A.I. is already producing stories that merge drivers, dates, incidents and
photos into a quite readable report for the internet. But many are not factual. This
makes our database of original source material more important than ever.
In addition to race meetings, we currently have Official Results for over 1,350
hillclimb events and 300 speed events (i.e. lap dashes and standing quarter events).

If any AMHF supporters have kept their pre-1999 Official Results, you
may help us fill some gaps. We would love to borrow them to carefully scan and
return to you. Just contact Rod Chivas at results @ motorheritage.org.au or ph. 0413 360772.
